Preparing You and Your Infant -
Starting at 6 weeks

The staff at The New Generation understands that the first day at a new center can be an emotional time for you and your child. We hope that, through good communication, we can help you and your child ease into this transition. Before your child starts at The New Generation, we suggest that you schedule a time to bring your child in so your little one can get used to his / her new surroundings and there are no surprises on your child's first day.

We ask you to send with your child:
  • Diapers and wipes (we recommend you bring a large package to leave with us)
  • Diaper cream
  • 2 crib sheets (in case one gets soiled)
  • 2 full changes of clothes
  • Formula and any food
  • Tylenol
  • Teething aids

Notes for Parents

Parents, make sure your child is sent with a change of clothes to leave at the center, and remember to change the clothes as the seasons change. Label everything that your child brings in, especially coats and sweaters.

The New Generation is closed on Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Good Friday, and Memorial Day.

Remember that tuition is due regardless of your child's attendance, holidays, and weather closings.

In the event of inclement weather, call before you bring your child in. There is an answering machine that will have a prerecorded message if the center will be closed for the day. You will be responsible for picking up your child or having an emergency contact to pick them up, should the center need to close early during an emergency.

Make sure that you have updated your emergency contact information if anything has changed recently. We can't stress enough how important it is that your child has an emergency contact. We need to be able to get in touch with you or an emergency contact at all times that your child is in our care, in the event of an emergency.
